Since 2001, I have served as Executive Director for LifeWay Conference Centers & Camps, overseeing Ridgecrest Conference Center, Glorieta Conference Center, and Ridgecrest Summer Camps. Prior to joining LifeWay, I worked in the hotel industry for 20 years, primarily as a food & beverage director, hotel general manager and regional director of operations.

This is my personal blog and it’s primarily focused on Christian leadership, especially within the Christian camping and conference center arena. My goal is to take what I’ve learned over 30 years in the hotel/hospitality industry and combine that with current hospitality trends to provide a helpful resource for those in Christian camping leadership.
In addition to leadership, I will also write posts dealing with human resource topics and current hospitality trends, as well as an occasional comment on what’s happening in the world of sports. (What can I say? I’m a sports junkie!)
Normally I try to post 2-3 times a week. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe via RSS or email.
I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Lynn, for over 30 years. We’re the proud parents of two adult children and live in Hendersonville, TN, where we are members at LongHollow Baptist Church.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the blog!

Hello,
My name is Albert Nitz. I live in Akron, OH. I am a Christian.
At Google I typed in – who owns the united states? Your article popped up. Are those figures correct concerning China? Every time I picked up an item that states made in China, I put it back. I thought the name “China” was equal to the name “United States of America”. Laugh!
Thank you for the article, Who Owns The United States?
You’re welcome Albert. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your kind comment about our not being able to make it to Ridgecrest this past weekend. We will certainly try again to make it up there and very soon I am sure.
Thank you so much for your Kingdom work.
Josh Krebs
You’re welcome Joshua. If you’re in the Nashville area, let me know. Would love to have you come by LifeWay for a cup of coffee.
Thanks for the article on “Why Would I Hire You”. It was a good piece to print and give to my son who has been jobless for a year now! I’ve tried to reiterate to him the importance of “setting himself apart” from the thousands of others that are job seeking right now. Maybe this “neutral point of view” will give him some fuel to light his fire!
Hi Byron
Just came across this site and it’s great. I’ve just commenced a position as Director of Camping for some Australian camp sites, in beautiful Queensland. So I’m on a steep learning curve, and it looks like there’s much of your experience online here. Thanks for sharing it!
Andrew
Thanks Andrew. Good luck in the new position!
Praise the Lord !!!
I am also in the secular field and i believe that I have calling for the poor and needy, to preach the Gospel amongst them. How did you take the step of leaving your career and joining ministry. Keep up the good work in Christ.
Regards
JOY

HI Byron! I was so happy to find you! Nice to see you are still working in your chosen field and helping others to do the same.
We have moved to Vancouver, BC, our home, to be with aging family members. I haven’t worked in LONG time, hence my note and wondered if you would give me a reference. I have not applied for any hotel jobs, just some part time customer service positions and I do have “please” and “thank you” tattooed on my retinas! Lynn is well and working as a territory rep for triple A. Hope all is well with your family, Best Regards, Deborah
